The Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame (IHOF) 1980 - 2012
"To honor and recognize outstanding Isshin-Ryu practitioners from around the world"
The Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame (IHOF) is an international event, held annually to honor and recognize outstanding Isshin-Ryu practitioners from around the world for their contributions to the art of Isshin-Ryu Karate regardless of their various association affiliations or dojo memberships. In addition, it provides the opportunity for all Isshin-Ryu practitioners to come together in fellowship, exchange knowledge and ideas, begin new friendships and renew old ones, as well as participate in healthy unbiased competition.
The IHOF Board of Directors is made up of 10 members representing many diverse Isshin-Ryu associations and backgrounds. The Board meets each year to review, without prejudice, and vote on the nominations received, with each category requiring a majority vote to determine the honoree. It does not offer membership through dues collection, nor does it charge for awards.
